I'm just sharing someone's finding. You can also share what you know.
Read this:-

Hi all👋
So.. I think I finally found out (after few research + talking to some pro peeps) the reason why Google made this new move (i.e., making a copy of files are now counted as download quota)

TLDR 😤
Gd-efc (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) is one of the main reason why Google made this move

In Detail
1. What's gd-efc?
Its a script to share gdrive links in a secure way

2. Why this script was made?
Hermietkreeft(a cool mod at fg repacks) shares/helps peeps with gdrive links of fg repacks.

As FG audience is huge af
1. These shared links often exhaust its download quota in few minutes only 🙊
2. FG haters report his links and he has to deal with tons of DMCA emails 🥶

As a solution to both of the above issues, Anadius (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) (the genius) made a awesome script called Gd-efc (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login).

3. What this script does?
A. This script encrypts the original gdrive link making it impossible to report it.

B. This script will make a copy of originally shared files to your gd/td. You will download from these copies only. (not from originally shared files)

As you never download from these originally shared files, download quota exhausted issue never occurs 😁

4. Why I am saying Gd-efc is one of the main reasons why all this happened?
I wanna use some stats here.
Once in a discord server, Hermietkreeft shared a pic saying "62,500+ peeps downloaded SIM4 updated repack within 24 hours of its release"

Let's do a basic calculation
SIM4 repack was 30-40gb (based on selective download)
Let's take Avg 35gb.
So.. 62500*35gb = 2187500gb = 2.08 PB

So.. Within just 24 hours
2PB files gets copied only for
1 game 1 repacker (fg)

Just think about all the Game repacks available in FG site + all the repackers like Masquerade, Artemis, Dodi, Apex and many more who were using Gd-efc for sharing.

We can safely assume atleast 8-10PB/day amount of copies of original files were made without using a single byte download quota of originally shared files.

Ah and yes
Even many pvt forums, pirate sites and tg channels were also using Gd-efc to share stuff.

So we can safely say around 15PB+/day amount of copies of originally shared files were being made daily without using a single byte download quota of originally shared files.

Of course, Google had to patch this loophole
So it played it's card and made its move
"Now coping also counted as download quota"
&
Tbh Google won successfully in making gd-efc useless for bulk sharing

Now all peeps who do mass-sharing are worried (as they have to update tons of links) and looking for alternatives like onedrive (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and all..

5. Why Google made gd(My drive) its 1st target?
As i said, Google wanted to make gd-efc useless for bulk sharing

Gd-efc was special because
1. Its codes are public (where as klop/sharer codes are private)
2. This is the only script which supports folder sharing, others don't

And we all know
TD folders can't be shared, only Gd folders can be shared.

So.... Google focused on GD to restrict and put limitations

6. Help please 😥
My Gdrive has tons of stuff but i can't back it up due to new limitations
The only solution is
A. Make a rclone remote for source Gdrive
B. Make a rclone remote for a NEW TD (destination) (where your edu/gsuite which you want to backup is added as manager)

Now use this rclone move command to move stuff from my drive to TD.

rclone move "source:path" "destination:path" -P --stats-one-line --stats=5s --ignore-existing --drive-server-side-across-configs --drive-acknowledge-abuse --drive-keep-revision-forever --drive-chunk-size 128M --tpslimit 128 --transfers 128 --checkers=128

C. Now all your stuff are in a TD. Do a TD to TD cloning using cloning tools (clone to a different TD)

D. Now move back the original data to Gdrive.

P.S :-
1. All these are my own observations. Not blaming anyone or no offence to anyone
2. I have not covered download quota as exact values are yet to be known

Hope things are more clear now.

Regards
Youknowme 😉

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

earlier the limit was 750gb per account.

so advantage of klop and others was.. 1 link is hidden from dmca.. and 2 that copying into own account does not count into that 750gb limit (copying was unlimited)

now copying is also counted into download limit.. some say limit is 2TB per account per day.. but their is no official announcement.. so no one knows for sure

Little correction.
Earlier there was no limit on a single file download. The 750 GB (24hours) limit was for uploads on a single drive.
The official answers on daily limit:
You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Yes, now even copying a file will be counted as download.
Only thing I'm not sure yet is that the limit is set for single file or the account on which the file is being hosted currently. For example, if I download a file say size is 2TB, so I (or anyone) won't be able to download not just that file but also other files as well that are being hosted by the same drive for 24 hours.

obviously "750gb per account" is per day.. if you download a 1gb file 750 times.. account is gone for that day.

I wish someone work on this limit, copy the file until it hits the limit and then clear whether the limit will be just for that file or whole drive

does this suspension only stop copying file or it stops downloading of that file using direct link?

Copying file from uploader's account or downloading a naked link from uploader's account.. both will be counted in his quota.

Once the file is copied into your account.. your quota will apply

I download from this forum. Most uploaders here share using GDtot.

1. So, is there any solution for this limit?
2. Wait for 24 hrs??
3. Also, how can the downloading user that is 'creating a copy' with GDtot know when this daily limit refreshes?

According to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login: google increased the 2tb limit to 10tb.

Besides GDtot now has a feature where if admin's or any other uploader's account runs into limit.. files are shared from cached copy of other downloaders (concept~ similar to torrent seeds) who had grabbed the file before the daily limit got over

so yeah that is a relief

As for exact time.. dunno.. just try later
